Darat AlAmir

Darat AlAmir, located on Fawzi Al-Maalouf Street in Jabal Amman, is a remarkable example of historic architecture and cultural significance in Jordan. Built in 1928 by the architect Subhi Al-Kilani, the house is situated on a 2.71-dunum plot and offers a total living space of 450 square meters, including a spacious ground floor and a charming basement. Over the decades, the house served as a vibrant family residence, hosting numerous celebrations and welcoming guests from across the region. Its inviting atmosphere and versatile design made it a focal point for gatherings and cultural exchanges. Later, the house was repurposed as a school, operating as Al-Mamoun School from 1966 to 1990, further embedding it into the fabric of the community. Today, this historic house serves as the headquarters of Tajalla Society for Music and Art, continuing its legacy as a space for creativity, culture, and connection.

Our Art Stables

One of Tajalla’s spaces in Darat Al Amir, once home to horse stables, have been transformed into creative hubs that embody Tajalla’s vision of fostering culture and community. Four exceptional projects, carefully selected and managed by talented local women, now bring life to these spaces, enriching Tajalla’s texture with their unique contributions. These projects include “Trace Art Therapy”, offering therapeutic art experiences; “A Table for 10”, a space for hands-on artistic workshops; “Beit Khayrat Souf”, celebrating local flavors and craftsmanship; and “Badiya Wool”, preserving and promoting traditional wool crafts. Together, these initiatives reflect Tajalla’s commitment to empowering women and celebrating Jordan’s cultural heritage.

Tajalla House – Jabal Al Weibdeh

The Tajalla House is one of Amman’s oldest and most architecturally significant homes, built in the 1920s in Jabal Al Weibdeh. As part of Tajalla’s philosophy of preserving tangible heritage, the house was previously home to Tajalla for Music and Arts, where it was transformed into a vibrant cultural hub for workshops, exhibitions, and performances. The house, with its Mediterranean-inspired design and rich history, has hosted generations of residents and gatherings, contributing to the social and cultural fabric of the city. While Tajalla has relocated to Jabal Amman (Darat Al Amir), the spirit of The Tajalla House lives on as an enduring symbol of the organization’s commitment to heritage and artistic expression.
